EndNote

EndNote is a reference management software that can be used on Windows and Macintosh computers. It allows you to create a collection of bibliographic records and files to use for your research and writing.

American Psychological Association (APA)

Save a copy of the APA 7th style to your EndNote library

  1. Go to EndNote's APA 7th style file page opens in a new window.
  2. Click Download Style
  3. Save the style to your computer, e.g. to a Style folder in the EndNote folder your Documents
  4. Double click on the APA 7th.ens file. It will open in an EndNote window.
  5. Open the File menu in the EndNote library toolbar. Select Save As.
  6. Remove " Copy" from the end of the file name and select Save.

APA 6th

APA 6th style is available from the dropdown styles menu within your EndNote library.

Australian Guide to Legal Citation (AGLC)

Save a copy of the AGLC style to your EndNote library

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) has developed a style and support material for AGLC 4.

  1. Go to the UTS EndNote guide opens in a new window.
  2. Go to Install the AGLC style.
  3. Follow the instructions

  • You will need to proofread your final bibliography, and you may need to manually edit some of the entries after you convert your document to plain text.

Harvard

Harvard style at CQUniversity is closely based on the Harvard style on the Academic Learning Centre's abridged guide to Harvard referencing style. The EndNote style file now includes DOI's.

Save a copy of the harvard-cqu style to your EndNote library

  1. Click harvard-cqu style file (.ens), and select Open. The style will open in an EndNote window.
  2. Open the File menu in the EndNote library toolbar. Select Save As.
  3. Remove "[1] Copy" from the end of the file name and select Save.

Turabian

Set Turabian as the output style for your EndNote library

EndNote has style files for both Turabian 8th Footnote and Turabian 9th Footnote. They are formatted to create both footnote and bibliography entries.

  1. Choose "Select Another Style" in the dropdown style menu. (In Endnote X9 this is at the top of the EndNote library screen. In EndNote 20 it is at the bottom of the Summary tab when you open a reference record.)
  2. Search for Turabian.
  3. Highlight it in the list of styles.
  4. Select Choose.
  5. It will then appear in the styles dropdown menu in your library.
  6. Select it from this list to set it as your referencing style.

Vancouver

Save a copy of the Vancouver style to your EndNote library

Go to the University of Queensland Endnote Output Styles opens in a new window page.

  1. Scroll down the list of output styles available (Vancouver is at the bottom of the list)
  2. Download using the instructions using the Installing EndNote output stylesopens in a new window instructions
