Opening Hours

Rockhampton North Campus Library

Accessing the library space

The campus library is in Building 10. It can be accessed:
7 days a week - 5 am to midnight

You will need an afterhours access card to enter the library outside of staffed hours (only the ground floor can be accessed after-hours). On the ground floor you will be able to access campus computers and printers. The collection is not available during after-hours access.

To obtain an after-hours access card please see Library staff during staffed hours between 8.30am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. It may take 24-48 hours before your card is activated. Only students and staff are eligible for an afterhours access card.

If you have trouble accessing the library with your card please call Security on 0418 792 982.

In-person library and information technology support

You can get in-person assistance at the library desk during our staffed hours:
Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm

If the library desk is ever unstaffed during this time, you can still get assistance by using the video kiosk. The video kiosk is located on the ground floor, behind the library desk. You can talk to a staff member by pressing 'Talk to us Live' on the screen.

Borrowing and returning books

The print book collection is on level one and is available during the library's staffed hours.

You can borrow books using the self-check automated machine which is on the ground floor of the library. You will need a student ID card to borrow.

To return books please place them in the return chutes. There is one inside the library on the ground floor (behind the library desk) for returns during our staffed hours, and one outside the front door for after-hours return. Please be aware it may take longer for your returned books to be processed and removed from your library record, as we are quarantining books to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

If you are unable to come to the campus due to Covid-19, you can request items only available in print via Library Search and have them delivered to your home address within Australia. Students will be provided a prepaid envelope to return the items. This service is free, courtesy of the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF). You will also be provided additional loan days for transit time.

Printing

There are two printers located on the ground floor. The black and white printer is located over by the study rooms and the colour printer is next to the video kiosk. There is also a black and white printer located on level one along with several computers.
